Three Possible Ways to Improving Cambodian Educational System
Generally
speaking, Cambodia is one among other poor countries in this planet earth; its
educational system is still limited, regardless of talking about other sectors such as economy and environment and so forth. Frankly, it really needs improving so as to reach a positive level. Undoubtedly, Cambodian human resources dramatically decrease and swiftly fall into nearly a negative point. From my
point of view, in order to effectively develop Cambodian Educational System, I
come up with three crucial perceptions.
First, we have to build more state schools in rural area. As far as I am concerned, there are many provinces in Cambodia which lack of states schools for students to enter education, and they are of difficulty in acquiring and continue education. With this reason, many poor and underprivileged families do not have enough money to send their children to private schools; therefore, building more state schools is significant.
Furthermore, the government should strengthen and broaden teacher qualification. In fact, there are small amount of teachers just graduating from their University by chance, not with their effort, and they possibly can make their students more dubious about what they teach, for all they teach is not clear. Thus, the government had better give highly qualified knowledge to teachers by allowing them to have training sessions as often as possible according to the reality. In regard with this importance, all teachers are able to gain more knowledge, and they can make their teaching methods more successfully.
More importantly, the government should provide teachers with acceptable salary. From what I know, most Cambodian state school teachers generally complaint about receiving low salary, for they could not afford their family adequately and even their own lives. Honestly, money is really important. Everybody needs money. By giving enough salary to teachers, they will feel encouraged, and then they will also spend much time teaching students by heart.
To sum up, Cambodian Education System desperately needs to be positively transformed to a standard level. Hence, the three aforementioned key points should be put into consideration and also put into practice by all education-related authorities, especially the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport as well as the government.
Last but not least, I just hope and make a promise to myself that as I graduate from my University both locally and internationally, I am going to engage myself in educational sector and find solutions to make a better improvement and changes to educational system so that we can build up more human resources and make our country great again
